Well hello there beautiful people! I must say again, it has been a while since i wrote on my blog. I’ve missed you guys and i haven’t had a chance to catch up on everyone’s blogs yet, that’s what i am doing next! Hope every one has been feeling good!
About a month ago, my sister Simmy and I went on a small shopping spree whilst we were visiting the Gold Coast. I picked up a handful of items which I knew i would use and needed in my beauty collection. There are a few make up products, hair products and skin care. All these are first buys and tries for me. I shall start with the hair products first.
I never have been a hair spray kind of person, but when i saw this, for some reason i felt i needed it. It is Herbal Essences, Set me up Hairspray. It is a 3 hold which is the maximum hold in the Herbal Essences brand. I have just always loved the packaging for Herbal Essences, it’s just so girly and pretty. It has a wonderful scent which they call lily bliss. The couple times that I have used this so far, I have not noticed it makes your hair crunchy. It works a treat in my eyes.
I picked up Schwarzkopf Sea Salt Texturising spray, Taft Full on Surfer Chic. It has a good hold in it, and definitely gives the “sexy tousled beach look” that it states it does. I actually went to Ed Sheeran’s Brisbane Concert on the second night which was held at the Riverstage in Brisbane. The Riverstage is an outdoor arena and it poured rain! My hair was drenched when i got back to my hotel, and I couldn’t find a hair dryer to re-style my hair with. I towel dried my hair as much as possible, sprayed this through my hair and it looked great during the night! I love this stuff. It has a pleasant smell as well.
Lets get onto skin care shall we. Both these products are from Lush Cosmetics. I had been in search for a good, well textured lip scrub as I find my lips are constantly getting dry and they feel horrible. I could not find one anywhere, and I didn’t feel like doing a “DIY” project. I came across the lip scrubs at Lush and they smell delicious! I picked up the Bubblegum flavoured one. There was popcorn flavoured and mint flavoured as well. Lush products are not tested on animals and I am more then willing to support that. It smells delicious and tastes delicious, yes delicious, it mostly tastes like sugar. You simply put it on your lips, give it a rubba scrub then lick it off. No harm done. The other lush product I picked up on another shopping trip was Dream Cream. This product is a hand and body lotion. On the top of the tub, it says this product is a soothing and cooling cream that is designed to go on the most sensitive and easily upset skins and the staff member i spoke to said it is great for people who have eczema. It smells like a mix of lavender and tea tree oil. It is full of a lot of natural oils. It is a thick creamy consistency but it spreads easily. Now for the make up products I purchased!! My first favourite product out of the make up picks is a product by Profusion called the Back to Basics, Eyes, Lips and Cheeks Beauty Note Book. This thing is excellent!! It has a bunch of matte, shimmery and glittery eye shadows, two gel eye liners, 3 shades of eyebrow powders, 3 shades of blush and it comes with a eye lining pencil and small sized brushes. The swatches are my favourite colours in the book of eye shadows. Every product in this book is so pigmented and smooth. I picked this up from Kmart for $10.00AUD. Amazing!
Another eye shadow I picked up from Priceline is from ModelsPrefer, Professional, Mineral Eyeshadow. It is called Rocker Chic, it is a beautiful vibrant purple and gold duo eye shadow! So pigmented and smooth in texture. I have put the swatch in the photo i took above. I am yet to use this in a look, but i will do a bright glamorous look!
The second last product’s I picked up were again from Kmart which are the OXX brand. This brand is so good considering it is only $2.00AUD for each product. I picke dup two lip liners, one in Siren which is a lovely bright red colour which goes well with any type of red or darker pink and Nude which is a great natural nude colour. This goes well with nude or pink lip sticks.
Last but not least, I had to pick up the Australia Make-Up Finishing Spritz. I don’t own make up setting spray or spritz. I only picked up the smaller travel size bottle, not knowing there was a bigger bottle!!! But I haven’t really had a chance to put it to the test. It has aloe vera and rose water in it.
I hope this was a great read and i look forward to using these products. I want to do a make up look using the eye shadows, I will see how I go and I might put a blog up on it.
Ciao!!!!! Let me know if you have tried any of these products, and what your thoughts on them are :)?!
